Privacy Policy

Overview

VybeCoding ("the App") is an SSH terminal client for iOS and Android, with a companion desktop app for macOS and Windows, developed by SOBYTES LTD ("we", "us"). We respect your privacy and have designed the App to minimise data collection. This policy explains what information the App accesses, how it is used, and your choices.

Information We Do Not Collect

• We do not collect personal information or create user accounts.
• We do not track your location.
• We do not use analytics or advertising SDKs.
• We do not sell or share data with third parties.

Data That Stays on Your Device

The following data is stored locally on your device and is never sent to us:

• Server credentials — hostnames, usernames, passwords, and SSH keys are stored in the iOS Keychain or, on Android, in storage encrypted with the Android Keystore. They are excluded from device backups.
• Desktop pairing — when you pair a phone with your computer, the access token is kept on the phone and on that computer only.
• Terminal sessions — all SSH, VNC, and SFTP connections are made directly between your device and your servers. We do not proxy, intercept, or log these connections.
• Photos and camera — images captured or selected are uploaded directly to your chosen server via SFTP. They are not sent to us.

Voice Input

When you use voice input, the App records a short audio clip and sends it to our server, which forwards it to OpenAI's speech to text API (Whisper) and returns the text. The clip is sent only while you are using voice input, is not stored by us, and is not linked to any account or device identifier. On iOS, the App may use Apple Speech Recognition instead where available.

Voice Command Translation

When you use voice commands, common phrases (e.g. "list files", "go to desktop") are translated on device without any network request. For less common phrases, the transcribed text is sent to our server, which forwards it to OpenAI's API (GPT-4o-mini) for translation into a shell command. Only the transcribed text is sent — no device identifiers, credentials, or personal information are included. We do not store these requests.

Local Network Access

The App uses your local network to discover computers via mDNS / Bonjour. This is used solely to let you find servers on your WiFi network without manually entering IP addresses. Network discovery data is not transmitted off your device.

In App Purchases

Purchases are handled entirely by Apple (StoreKit) on iOS and by Google Play Billing on Android. We do not receive or store your payment information.

Third Party Services

• OpenAI, used for voice transcription (audio clips) and voice command translation (text). No account or device identifiers are sent. See OpenAI's Privacy Policy.
• Apple, for in app purchases, speech recognition, and crash reporting (if enabled in your iOS settings).
• Google, for in app purchases on Android (Google Play Billing) and crash reporting (if enabled in your Android settings).

Deleting Your Data

Everything the App stores is on your devices, and we hold no account for you. Uninstalling the App, or clearing its storage in your device settings, deletes it. You can remove a paired phone at any time in the desktop app under Settings, Paired devices.

Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
